Privacy

This page describes the site as it is built today.

• No accounts or forms. The site does not ask for your name or email, and the site's own code does not set cookies. (A hosting provider may set its own technical cookies; see below.)
• Filtering happens in your browser. Your browser downloads a word list file from this site and filters it on your device as you type.
• Search settings in the URL. To make a search bookmarkable and shareable, the main finder stores its settings (letters, positions and options) in the page URL as query parameters. Loading, reloading or sharing that URL sends those query parameters to the site's hosting provider, where they may appear in standard request logs. Typing in the finder without loading a URL does not send a request.
• No analytics or advertising scripts are installed at the moment.
• Email. If you write to contact@letterpattern.com, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards your message to a Gmail inbox used for this project, and replies are sent from that Gmail address. Your message and email address are then handled by Google under Google's privacy policy. We use them only to answer you.
• Hosting and server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, run by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data such as IP address, time, browser type and page requested (including any query parameters) to deliver and protect the site, and it may set technical cookies used for security and bot protection. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

If we add analytics, advertising or an email sign-up later, this page will be updated first, with the date of the change, and any consent required by law will be requested before such tools run.
